NATIONAL
MODEL AVIATION PROGRAM
INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION
- Instructors are to
be members in good standing of the National Free Flight
Society and the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
- Each instructor is
responsible for securing his/her own model class venue.
- A letter of introduction
verifying affiliation with the NFFS is included in the instructor's kit.
- Each class should have
easy access to a suitable indoor flying facility. An outdoor facility, suitable
for flying a P-30, should be within one hour of the class venue.
- At the start of each
annual session a flight demonstration of various types of models (mostly
indoor) should be presented to the new students for an adequate introduction
to Free Flight.
- For class efficiency
it is recommended that an adult accompany each student under the age of
15 years.
- Instructors will keep
records of participants flying and proficiency scores and send them to the
NFFS Education Committee Chairperson at least once per month. These records
are to be kept in standard spreadsheet forms that will be given to instructors.
- Expense reports and
receipts are to be sent to the EduCom Chair at least bimonthly.
- At least one other
adult must be present at all times in the conduction of class and/or flying
activities.
