I know it sounds rediculous, but I'd like to build a 'Sleek Streak' - the old North Pacific all-sheet model we used to be able to buy for less than $1 at the local hardware store or hobby shop.

There's a plan out there for a 'new' version which has ribs and polyhedral, but I wanted to build a *really* simple model with my son to show him how easy it is to crank out a rubber model that can really perform. Did anyone bother to get templates from one of the original versions...?

Anyone out there have some old Sleek Streaks they're willing to sell?? If I had a time machine, I'd go back and buy a box full, but I've not worked out the datails of the machine.... Very Happy Thanks!!

I got hold of an old design sleek streak, and still have the wings and tail feathers somewhere. I am sort of organized, so I am pretty sure I can find them, but it may take a while. Have you looked through the "Hey Kid, Wanna Build a Model airplane?" articles? It really doesn't take any more effort to build one with a couple of ribs and polyhedral, and they sure do fly well. My copy of a Sleek Streak always flies well even after it hasbeen sitting around for 6 months to a year.
Your child will have fun with it.
If I can find my tail feathers, I will scan them and send them to you. It may take a little time.

Hello, I'm struggling to find the "Hey Kid" articles...I believe I actually downloaded it at one point in time, but I'm not finding it now. Was there a Sleek Streak in that collection...?

If you know where to get to those articles, please post the link. Google didn't help me, no matter how many ways I spelled it, etc.

Would certainly appreciate the templates if you get the chance...no rush. There are a lot of cool ROG's, but something about the lines of the Sleek Streak...!! Smile

The articles were by Bill Warner in Model Builder magazine. They are listed in the contents as "Hey kid!", and on the header of the article it's "HEY KID!... YA WANNA BUILD A MODEL AIRPLANE?" Started in November 1987 with the Sleak Streak and over time moved on to more complicated concepts. I'll dig through my old issues and find the article for You. Very Happy
