Lost Hills Field Layout

At the USA Team Selection in October and the following Wolrd and America’s Cup contests a slightly different field layout was used. This layout gave better conditions for the early rounds as well as overall all conditions.  It will be the first choice  in the Fab Feb Contests.  It seems to adapt better to recently evolving weather conditions. You still use the current and traditional campground.  It may take a little longer to set up the flight lines so watch out for the new set up. At a recent local club meeting some club members expressed disappointment at the amount of trash on the field at recent contests. We are making and extra effort to clean up and provide places for garbage and recycling.
Environmental Notice in SEN

From:  Shlomi Rosenzweig – Kiwi Cup Feb 2025

Attention Lost Hills Competitors:
To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, please keep our beloved Lost Hills competition field clean and free of litter. Garbage and recycling collection stations will be provided to assist you in maintaining cleanliness throughout the event. We encourage you to refer to the FAI Environmental Policy and Code Section of the Sporting Code for detailed guidelines on maintaining environmental standards. Kindly note that anyone caught littering will be subject to penalties.
Let’s work together to maintain a pristine and welcoming venue for all participants. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to environmental responsibility.

F1Q at Fab Feb

The Contest Directors for the World Cup events at Fab Feb are reviewing the most recent changes to the F1Q rules with respect to the Joules limit in F1Q.  It is most likely that limit will be set at 2 joules for all rounds. This will be confirmed shortly in advance of the contest in plenty of time to set the limit appropriately.

Creation of Lost Hills contest in Abouttime2

From:  Frederic Aberlenc

Dear friends

We have created 12 contest in Abouttime for Lost Hills (ABCQ for the 3 dates).

You can have a look in https://abouttime.flyingneurons.io/event

Just modify the number of flights and the schedule, we have used the default. It can be done before, during or after the real contest.

All the flight coming from MiniNeurone or All-tee will appear automatically in the ranking.

It could be good if some people can really send all the flights to Abouttime in order to demonstrate the possibility of automatic contests.

We have done a small movie explaining how to create a contest. Very easy: just define the date, the category and the location.

The movie:  https://youtu.be/A7xkWbCyb28

One small note for MiniNeurone user: a new version of NeuroTrack will be available this week with some improvements: mainly the possibility to see only your model.

Enjoy Lost Hills and do not hesitate for any questions

All-Tee updated  Too

From: Allard Van Wallene

Dear all,

For the All-Tee app there will be an update as well shortly. Improvements will be:

A more visible ‘About Time’ button making it more obvious to upload a flight.
Landing detection with improved accuracy, in particular for non-DT landings and the rare ‘uphill’ landings if the model lands on a slope.
Separate buttons for altimeter fly off and ‘normal’ timed flights.
Before downloading a flight, a warning to set the used class first (F1A, F1B etc.), This is important to use the correct launch detection.
The ‘Get Data’ button will download the stored flight instead of 30 minutes from memory.

Have fun in Lost Hills!

regards
Allard

Looking for  D47

From: Paul Noble-Campbell

One of the D47 servos in my F1A glider has just stopped working …

I was wondering if you could add the post below in the next email you send out to the group?
Looking forward to seeing you all at Lost Hills.

Does anyone have one (or two) Dymond d47 servo I could buy?
I will be in Lost Hills from Feb 6th, if there is a way to get it to me there, that would be highly appreciated!
