The NFFS one-design models for the 2017 Nats are the Zingo and Witchhawk 500. The rules state that they have to be powered by non-schneurle .15s. When I was visiting with the BMJR folks at the Nats in July they told me that the Witchhawk would be allowed to use a .19 because it was just too underpowered with a .15. I haven’t seen anything official on this; does anybody know if it’s true.
(I already have a Witchhawk 500 with a Veco .19, so it would simplify my life. I just have to build a new wing…)I was speaking with Bill Vanderbeek, who organizes this event, last week at the SAM Champs in Muncie. He told me that non-schneurle .19s will be allowed for both the Witchhawk and the Zingo. So your baffle piston OS, Fox, Veco, etc. motors are all good. In fact I don’t see why you couldn’t use a Super Tigre G-19.
