ParticipantThe AMA has asked that, since the Inter-City meet overlaps NATS R/C prep on Sunday, June 28, 2009, that we end our contest by 1:00 p.m. that afternoon. We are revising the flyer and if anyone would like one sent via email, please contact me at the address listed. I will be sending a flyer to folks who have already gotten one.
Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, but we don’t call the shots on this. Hope you can still make it!

did they also limit you to one corner of the field as well?06/06/2009 at 6:10 pm #47130Bill Shailor
ParticipantNo, we’re pretty much free to move around and since the maxes are 2 minutes, that shouldn’t be a problem.

InactiveBill if I weren’t already going to be on the field I wouldn’t bother coming. The other week there was a Quickie 500 pylon contest going on the same time we were flying FF. Poor planning on whose part? 👿

ParticipantWe had gotten site clearance from the AMA last year as well as a sanction for the entire day. Apparently, someone who is involved with R/C recently complained they need the entire site to train judges for Monday’s event. There is no scheduled contest going on, this is in the event someone needs to do some “display” flying to show judges what is and isn’t a good pattern. Instead of cancelling us out for the entire day, this was the accomodation.

ParticipantBefore anyone gets their hackles up remember, the AMA tolerates us. We need them a lot more than they need us. Sometimes, some accomodation is required. 🙁

ParticipantThanks, Dean, for the post. The flyer has been revised. Sunday flying will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The rounds for F1G, H and J will be one hour, no overlap. The first round will have a 30 minute launch window starting at 8:00 a.m. and will be flown to the ground. Time will be kept for the entire flight, but the max will be 2 minutes. Time over two minutes will be added for contestants who max out. This will determine the winners and eliminate a flyoff on Sunday. Otherwise, all the events for Sunday are unchanged. If you’d like a copy of the flyer, please email me at wshailor@secrestwardle.com
Thanks again,
Bill -
