I’ve seen the Archer Satellite mentioned. Is there anywhere I could get a plan for this version of the Satellite?

Randy Archer’s Satellite C model was voted Large AMA Gas Model of the Year in the 1985 NFFS Symposium. In the Symposium, Randy did a interview where he detailed the design of his Satellite C. In the Symposium, he included a 3 view drawing of the model with all the major specifications. The Satellite C had a wing area of 802 sq. in. and a 27% stab. The model had a VIT stab and was powered by a K&B 6.5 motor. I compared the Satellite C 3 view to the original Bob Hunter designed Series 70 Satellite 800 plan. You could take the Series 70 Satellite 800 plan and make the changes that Randy outlines in the interview and make a workable drawing to build the model. if you have a copy of the Symposium you could read the article for your self, if not, I could scan my copy and e mail it to you. You could check the NFFS plan service to see if they have a copy of the Series 70 Satellite 800 plan available. I also have the Series 70 Satellite 800 plan in a digital pdf. form which you could take to a local print shop to have a copy made. Try the NFFS plan service first.

Hey Thanks Mike. I would love to read the article from the Symposium. My email is: rdkargol@mahaska.org

I don’t see the plan on the NFFS site.

Fyi, the ‘C’ model 3view drawing is not shown in the 1985 issue. 1985 is only the Archer interview where he discusses build methods used. The 1986 issue is where it shows the drawn out 3 view.

I had a copy of each Symposium. So when someone asked me to send them a copy, because they may not have the Symposium issues, I simply sent them both.
