    Jim,

M&K charge 30$ to paint the nose pod white. What are the reason for white?

The original fuselage pods were 2 piece and spliced together. They where primed and painted to give a nice one piece look. Also, the mechanical bunters had 20-30 grams of weight to use and so the extra weight was not a problem. I recently sanded of the paint- primer on two old fuelages which saved 10 grs. I use a coat of laquer to give an OK finish black CF look– the splice blends in and looks OK- especially from 50 meters.

The new fuselage pods are one piece molded with a beautiful carbon fiber gloss finish but pricey at $105. However some like to have the pods epoxy painted in white for looks and cooler temps on hot sunny days. The paint is 30$ more each on a purchased fuselage / model. I have used monocote trim sheet to put a reflective surface on the 60% of the side surface. Looks nice and no problem at Lost Hills but I do keep the model out of the sun between rounds. JIM
