I am sorry to pass along news that Bob Perkins, Free Flighter, gentleman and friend, passed away. He was a first rate flyer and innovator. One of the really good guys. He had been in failing health for awhile. Mulvihill winner in 2004. He will be missed.

Sad news indeed. I watched Bob fly his mulvihill at the nats this year with O.C. Stewart holding on to him as he wound the model, after he launched he would sit right down on the ground from exhaustion as Joe Williams and Ed Sneed chased for him. I think he finished second, but not sure. A true competitor to the very end. He will be missed.

    OH NO!!!

I had the pleasure of being the assistant CD with Bob for the NATS and was a true learning experience. Bob and I got along royally and he always made me feel like I was a friend when he showed up at the field…

    Another fine FF-er gone….
