Cox 049/051 head shims

I am looking for Cox 049/051 head shims. I have plenty of stock ones which are .006 thick, I am looking for thinner ones. .002, .003, etc.

Who out there in Free Flight Land stocks or makes these shims?

I’m working from memory but have you checked the Norvel site, they may have what you want.

Just checked. They only have one thickness in head shims for the .049’s. They have shims for the .15 in three thicknesses. 😥

One thing you could do is carefully remove some material off the bottom of the cylinder head (plug). I have done this on a flat plate (glass) with 400 wet/dry paper. If ya do this, you could take .003″ off the head and then have an in between adjustment….

That is certainly an option, but then I would have a head unlike any other. Don’t know if I could keep it separate from non-modified heads.

I have since latched onto an assortment of shims. Thanks. 😀
