ParticipantI’ll contact Starlink-Flite Tech tomorrow, but in case they are not open due to the holiday, I just got an 2nd-hand Flite tech timer and one of the chips included seems to have VIT/AR in addition to motor cut and DT. Very happy about this, I’ll incorporate them into that model, but I don’t have instructions on how to program it, just the standard motor cut/DT F1Q version instructions.
Can anyone provide the programming instructions for this version?
Thanks!

ParticipantNeed a bit of info. Do you have the variable DT chip?
Will your servo DT work for you with the AR/VIT being unused?11/28/2008 at 8:27 pm #46699gstew
Participant2 are fixed DT, 2 min & 3 min. I have the instructions for programming those and they seem to work as expected… select the motor run time, push button to start motor, release button to start timing, servo arm moves for DT 2 min/3 min (respectively) after motor run stops.
Then there’s a chip labeled FLT… I believe that one was for flight testing, but it appears to be dead as when I plug it in, the LED lights and stays on and it appears to be blinking on and off too fast to see. Pity. I’ll need to get one of these for trimming, fast DT will be nice (or maybe I’ll just put an RC receiver in it and control the servo and ESC from the ground for trimming! How’s that for blasphemy!?!)
But then there’s a chip with the label worn off. It definitely has AR & VIT (the servo arm moves two times right at the end of the motor run, then waits for DT time for it’s final movement) and has a 1 minute DT (I assume that’s the default setting). I’ve gotten it into programming mode by using some of the special feature inputs from the fixed DT chips instructions, but I’m not sure what I’m doing with it, hence the call for help.
I want to understand how to program it because I’d like to use AR/VIT on the model.
Thanks!

ParticipantThe chip that isn’t working is probably in backwards. Match up the little half-moon on the chip to the same on the timer.
Check your PM and call me.
Fast DT is available on a variable motor run chip.11/29/2008 at 4:24 am #46701gstew
ParticipantThanks on the thought about the non-working chip, but I’ve made sure to insert it with the alignment mark the right way each time I tried it. I haven’t tried putting it in the wrong way, tho! 😉
Getting late tonight, I’ll give you a call on Saturday.
Thanks!

P.S. Good to know that I can get the fast DT too!

ParticipantGreg,
I use the same starLink-fliteTech chips on my Oldenkamp’s E-Box. It has an undocumented fifth function for AR/VIT. Not sure, however, whether this applies to all chips. You could try and program the undocumented function and reverse engineer its functionality. Alternatively, you could contact Larry Bagalini (760) 788 1858, to get the information directly. Larry is extremely helpful.
