I am an older modeler who just got back into the freeflight world by making a pilgrimage to the 2006 Nationals in August. Many of the fliers had stands on which they had mounted their starter motors along with a foot controlled switch.

Rather than reinvent the wheel I am looking for a source of potential designs for such a device. Can anyone help?

    Thanks

    John

I believe Larry Kruse had a good article or mentioned this in his column in Flying Models mag a little while ago. I will look at them and see if I can come up with an answer. I am looking to build one of these also.
Tired of the cuts and nicks, and I have been lucky so far!!

    Dohrm,

I am interested in seeing that article. I think you are right about the source, but my mag “file” system is not user friendly.

I modified a double decker tool box to take my starters. It is a bit low to the ground so I am looking for a better way.

If jfrothin will send me his email address, I can send him some photos.

Go to the Equipment section in this forum and look at the replies for starter stands.

You had requested some pics from me but I lost your email!!

I have an AutoCad file of the design we use, so if you can read that I can send it…If not, maybe I can jpg it or somethin!!
