    All,
The plans and magazine article I have for the GYSOB does not explicitly state the down and left thrust. I am generally suspicious of how things are drawn on the plans. The drawing would suggest about 4.25deg down, 3deg left. Does this seem reasonable?

I built a GYSOB and that sounds about right for the thrust adjustment’s.

I agree with Hank on the thrust settings, but ask the master…..

Doug Galbreath mastered this model back when FF was booming…………send him an email or even call him.
You’ll walk away with all the tips in the world.
Seriously, Dad and I watched Doug fly this thing, and being his size, the C job looked like a 1/2 A in his hands.

Yes that sounds right,Ed did not use auto rudder or auto stab.He used the left thrust to allow for more right rudder so when the motor stopped the rudder would turn the model and down thrust was to help hold the nose down and allow for a little more incidence in the glide both for a better recovery.Doug had both auto rudder and stab on his model but still used left and down thrust as a help in recovery. Both Ed and Doug flew their models straight up with a slight right roll,it was awesome thing to see
on a 15 sec. engine run.At the time nothing came close to the altitude they got.Good memories
