I was down at the “fabulous February” contests at Lost Hills and saw a GPS tracker on Ian Keye’s F1Q models, the Icare II. Any one have any thoughts on this item? It looks like it could be quite useful and a step up from the usual trackers, though a little pricey. Any thoughts, positive or negative?

    Thanks for any input.

Sorry about the spelling of your name Ian, I just looked at the card you gave me. It should be Ian Kaynes. I didn’t see any way to edit the first post.

    John,

The iCare2 GPS system works very well. I and quite a few in the US have used it now for a few years. The transmitter in the model receives a signal from satellites and sends the coordinates to the handheld receiver which compares it to its coordinates and puts the direction and distance to the model on the screen – for retrieval just follow the arrow on the screen and see how the distance to the model shrinks.
