I’ve been wondering how much additional length I can add to a motor by braiding? I’ve read that the upper limit is as much as 50% or as little as 10%. I will be making up some motors soon and would appreciate hearing from those of you with braiding experience.

    Thanks

    Earl

    Hello Earl,

Depending upon the application lets say 50% more than the hook to peg distance.

Hidden in my romantic essay “Rara Avis” about the use and abuse of Rubber Motors you will find much, much more.

Follow ths link and open the PDF.

Then there is some more stuff here:

Now there’s a man who knows how to make up a rubber motor, including in particular the ‘bit’ that hooks to the prop.

    Well done Ramon.
