I have become interested in the new vintage FAI Power event. I am trying to select a model for the ’58-’60 time frame and wish to build something that’s not a cliche (Lucky Lindy, the other four, etc) but will fly well. I like the looks of the Near Miss. Has anybody built and flown the plane or even rejected it with reasons why? I would update things a little such as bladder tank, mechanical DT and a tuned OS III .15 on the nose. Any thoughts or experience would be most welcome.
