I don’t know how recent it is but Hanford’s early 1/2A is pretty stinkin amazing. It would scale up nicely, I think.

Where could we see a plan/3-view/picture of the little beast?

Bobby found it. I think in a Zaic book. Its a Japanese design.
Has a rear fin and sheeted leading edges. LOOOONG tail moment.

I think I found it. My guess is “Ambition” by M. Esaki.

    HI, Denny:
The latest design out is Keith Fulmer’s A/B Ship. It has not been officially announced yet, but the plans are being drawn up as I write this. Hopefully, it will be in the May issue of the Digest, whenever it comes out.
That’s the only one in the pipeline that I know of.

    Thanks Bob,
We will see how much faith ole Keith has in his own design won’t we. 😀
I’m sure he will have it well tuned by Nats time.
A design called the Hi-Trail was being talked about as being Nostalgia legal. Anything come of that??? ( My Dad built one)

    Hi, Denny:
The Hi Trail is a neat Mel Schmidt design (as I recall). There was some debate about it, but the model was well after the cutoff date, so it was eventually dropped. Another that was discussed but dropped was the FlyRod, a model I’ve always liked. It didn’t qualify either.
Keith’s model was a competitor in the ROW event back then, and it’s being drawn up with the floats on the plans (so I’ve been told).
