    Hi Mike,

Thanks for the note. It’s also worth mentioning the contest falls during a solar eclipse and the little town of Albany, OR, about five miles north of the fields, is right in the path for good viewing. The eclipse is on Monday following the contest. If folks are attending the contest and plan to motel they need to get those reservations in. There are cancellation lists and those, too, are worth pursuing.

It’s going to be a pretty great contest so watch the Willamette Modelers Club website, http://willamettemodelersclub.weebly.com/index.html , for news and updates. I am the CD for the Vint/P-30 event while George Gilbert and Bruce Grell are the CDs for the NWFFC. We’ll all be at the same table helping each other out.

We would love to have you. Great fields and good company. PM me with questions, particularly about the Vint/P-30 event.

    Hi Everybody,

Yesterday I was reviewing the contest calendar in my recently received Model Aviation. Our contest in August – the Vintage FAI/Pro P-30 combined with the NWFFC all for August 18 – 20 is listed in rather garbled fashion. In fact, the sponsor is listed as an RC group rather than the Willamette Modelers Club. So, yes, our contest is still on in the same format discussed above.

The new Willamette Modelers Club newsletter is just out and posted on the website at http://willamettemodelersclub.weebly.com/index.html. When you get to the website, click on “newsletters” and it will display the first page of the current edition. Then double click on the first page and it will download to your pdf reader where you can view the flyers for both the Vint/Pro and the NWFFC contests. Meanwhile the club is dealing with AMA about the garbled message.

    Hope to see you there,

    Bill Swift
