I will be starting construction in the future…don’t know how soon…on a couple of oldtimers that I will be using O & R engines on. My questions are:

    1) What mount does one use? The modern fiber ones a lot of people are using won’t fit around the crankcase as far as I can figure.

    2) Where does one get a mount for this engine if one is commercially available?

    Thanks for the help!!! Ralph

How about good old fashioned hardwood mounts?

RALPH: THIS IS GEORGE SARINOPOULOS IN OKLAHOMA CITY GASFF@COX.NET —- I HAVE HAD EXCELLENT RESULTS IN USING GLASS FILLED NYLON MOTOR MOUNTS FOR IGNITION OLD TIMER ENGINES THAT ARE SUPPLIED BY DAVE BROWN PRODUCTS, 4560 LAYHIGH ROAD, HAMILTON, OHIO 45013. THE ENGINE SIZE CHART ON THE PACKAGE DOES NOT LIST THE OLD IGNITION ENGINES BUT YOU CAN MATCH THE ENGINE SIZE BY COMPARISON WITH THE MOTOR MOUNT IN THE PACKAGE. MOST HOBBY SHOPS CARRY AN ASSORTMENT OF THESE ENGINE MOUNTS. OTHERWISE, YOU COULD CONTACT DAVE BROWN PRODUCTS FOR ASSISTANCE. GOOD LUCK, GEORGE

One of the things I love about O&R motors is that you really don’t need a motor mount. Where possible, I simply run long 4-40 screws through the engine and into blind nuts behind the firewall. I will try to attach a photo of my Goldberg Interceptor. Where not possible, I bend up an aluminum sheet mount from .062 K&S aluminum.
