I have been asked to C/D the Pre-Nats contest for the 2010 Junior Free Flight World Championship Program. Details are yet to be finalized, but keep checking here for updates. The contest will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the AMA field in Muncie, Indiana. If you are able to volunteer as a timer, please let me know.

BillInformation regarding the Jr Team Program has been added to this site. The sanction application for the pre-Nats contest for July 26 has been sent in and Paul Crowley has agreed to be Head Jurist. Things are coming together, but we are still in need of volunteer timers. This a worthwhile endeavor and our teams have faired well in representing our country abroad. Any help in getting this contest running smoothly, and timing is an integral part, is greatly appreciated.
Also, as in the past, we will be especially diligent in watching for parental involvement when it comes to thermal picking. This is not allowed during the pre-Nats contest. Having been involved as a parent before, I have to admit the urge to “help” is strong. The problem, though, is that it is considered cheating and will not be allowed. It is not fair to the rest of the competitors whose parents or supporters are not modelers or choose to follow the rules. Please don’t put us in the position of having to call a flight back.
