I have been making up my various motors to length and storing them in plastic “zip lok” bags in a cool dark area under my work bench. At the NATS someone told me that storing motors in “zip-lok” bags was bad due to the plastic outgassing and damaging the rubber. He said that “oven bags” was the way to go. Has anyone else heard of this? Also what are your methods of rubber storage?
    Thanks,
    Ed

Yeah, I’ve heard that too for years, and was told also to put the rubber, made up or otherwise into brown paper bags, but I’m not too sure about that one either, as paper can have all sorts of “nasty’s” in it too.

My Tan2 made up, and otherwise is in plastic bags in our beer ‘fridge so it keeps dark and cool. Seems to be quite happy in there, so that’s where it can stay. 😀
