Has this been posted anywhere yet? Is it true?

Hi Cap’n,

I talked to Phil Sullivan yesterday. Phil gave me the results of the voting for the following AMA rule proposals:

1/2A, A, B, C, and D Power will be kept as separate events. How this will affect the National Cup competition trophies has yet to be determined.

The proposal to eliminate Classic Power was defeated.

The Builder of the Model rule will remain in effect.

Maximum wing span of Hand Launch Gliders will be limited to one meter.

In Catapult Glider, two loops of 1/8th” x 1/16th” x 18″ can be used instead of one loop of 1/4″ x 1/16th” x 18″.

Is this in the wrong place or is nobody surprised by the results?

I am really shocked we have a 40″ span limit on DLG already. It has been less than a year since more than one guy was even flying them!

I guess I cannot complain as I did little to prevent it, but none of the HLG guys were in favor of this.

I tried to make my opinion and reasoning known, but never received a reply. I don’t know if was seen or read. Heck, I’m thinking about proposing that all RC pattern aircraft be powered by a .25 with only two channels – just to get even you see.

There was a problem early on. This has been corrected and those results are shown on the link I posted.

I and all the HLGers I know did our darndest to keep ‘The Powers that Be’ from making the 1 meter span rule,
when only one or two[estimated]larger than that were even built.
A rule change in search of a reason to do so… 😡
