I truly appreciate the Free Flight community on the NFFS page and refer to it almost daily. But it seems that there are individuals that also supply other items or services that could be very helpful to all members. Such as building supplies, engine rework, or plans that some of us are unaware of. Those of us that are very isolated from other FF’s would appreciate such a listing so that we could contact individuals directly.

I think most of those people are listed on the NFFS website. Some I’ve used include: Bob Mattes is great for engine rework and Allen Heinrich (Aerodyne) is excellent if you are trying to track down an obscure plan — if you don’t see it on his list, send him an e-mail. Texas Timers makes the best timers for power models! E-bay has also become a major source. I get most of my engines on e-bay and just yesterday I ordered some carbon fibre strip from a fellow in Croatia. I still support my local hobby shops where I can and am fortunate to have two in the area with a good stock of balsa, but the days of buying a good free flight engine or timer at a hobby shop are gone, it seems.

    Thanks Simon.
