WANTED- Viking FAI —FOUND—

I’m looking for plans and a kit, or short kit for a Viking FAI. Respond here, or send me a PM. I check in here regularly.
BTW- I am not collecting, I intend to build, so no pristine, NOS/NIB “perfect box” specimens, please. It would be a waste of a valuable “collectible”.

I don’t know if its the 1/2A or the FAI, but Bob Holman http://www.bhplans.com/ has both the plan and laser cut short kit. Pretty airplane. Jim

I looked at the Bob Holman plans and it is the FAI Viking. Go for it. I’ve always thought it is an elegant model but have never seen one fly.

BTW- I first saw the Viking FAI on a two sheet set of drawings called “Famous Free-Flight models”, by Paul Plecan. It shows 77 FF models from Miss Philadelphia IV (1934) up to The Viking FAI, (M.A.N. June, 1963). The profile view of the Viking is a thing of beauty to me. It’s been on my “list” for thirty years. Interesting, how a “shape” can hypnotize……….

If any want to build a BIG (900 sq in) Viking Hi Thrust plan set that was scaled up (redrawn and re-engineered notjust enlargede). It is a bit of a deforester in the amount of wood it uses, but is truly impressive in the air. You can use the wing as a shade canopy on a hot day.
