DENNIS KARGOL
ParticipantI don’t know about anyone else, but I need to read about what everyone else out there in FF land is working on. Especially in snow covered and FF sparse Iowa. Cabin fever has set in

KeymasterOk, I’ll go. I think this is my first post here. I just today finished framing a Country Boy for One Design and 1/2A, and have cut a few piles of ribs for different sizes of Dixielanders and Pilfered Pearls. Am hoping to make the trip out to Muncie for my first FF Nats. Along the way am accumulating parts and pieces for support gear, though that side of the program may not be too polished. Am still hunting for a chase bike.

ParticipantYou may not need to get a chase bike for the NATS. The last two years I was able to rent from the AMA a golf cart to chase with. Hope they offer them again this year.

ParticipantCarts are available at the NATS.
I am re-doing the pylon and timer mount on my B Marval.
Almost finished with a new 1/2A Maarval for Cyclon.
I am gathering stuff and info for a Marval for a Nelson 19. It will be a bit different than my current version.01/19/2010 at 4:47 am #48468Craig G

ParticipantI’m working on a Lucky Lindy 750 and starting to work up an own-design for Super D. I’m also building a new Mulvihill fuselage. (Make SURE the rear peg is centered.)

ParticipantDan, Hank,
I’m Retchin’ and Gaspin’ at $ 25.00 / day.
It makes a $400.00 chase bike look pretty good!
Cheers!01/19/2010 at 3:41 pm #48473Scott Lapraik
ParticipantGood Day FF’ers! So far this building season I’ve built and finished a Ramrod 600 and a 1/2A Country Boy for the one design competition. Waiting on covering is an F1P Maverick Cyclon pwr’d, a modified Orbiteer for a TD 09, and about 40% built is a 1/2A Satellite 226 GLH VA MK1 pwr’d.

ParticipantI am working on a Pilfered Pearl 310 for 1/2 A — the wings are just about done, am gathering the parts for an F1C model and have also drawn up my own design Super D — next project. As well, I have a Class B Swoose oldtimer that I built the fuselage for last winter and need to get the wings done. I am also rebuilding a 1965 Honda Ct200 (90 Trail) that I bought for $150 as a chase bike. Too many projects… (and don’t ask me about the antique motorcycles that I also restore!)

ParticipantThat VA .049 powered Satellite 226 is going to be scary! I had a Mk. 1 VA .049 on my 280 sq. in. Okie Bird and it pulled it with a little too much authority. I figured I needed a bigger airplane to handle the power, which is why I am building the 310 Pilfered Pearl. I went back to a TD on the Okie Bird and it flies great when it’s not seeking out and wrapping its wing around a thermal pole!

InactiveI have an OS15FP Slow Open type model on the board (own design), and like Simon I am assembling a F1C (with much help from Mike Roberts).
Also I have an almost finished Vintage gas model, whose name unfortunately completely escapes me. Actually this one has been almost finished for a few years now. I need a nice little (cheap) 1.5cc diesel for it.
Oh yes, and a new 12″ catapult model!

InactiveI am preparing to build a 1/2A maverick that will have an added rib bay to each wing that will bring the wing area up closer to 300. I plan to use a combination of TEE DEEs for 1/2A and A. It will be locked down, thus useable in Classic, AMA and Slow open power events.
