    Hi all,

Anybody have a copy of the August, 1972, Flying Models, Zingo construction article?
    Thanks in advance, Gene

    Thanks George,
Picked up a Campbells kit of the Zingo. Gonna try to build it to the recomended 19 -20 oz for AMA. I believe that will involve replacing the solid ply pylon, thinner fuse sides, and less spruce in the wing.
The FAI version is 26 oz.

    Gene,

Bad news, the August issue has been either lost or mis-placed. I’m hoping for the latter. If I am able to locate it, I’ll let you know…

    Sorry,

Ahhhh, the Zingo….I have two of them here and they both were used for FAI competition in the 70’s. Both have Rossis, VIT, brakes, Pink and yellow silk….My son used them as trainers but I can tell ya they do not do too well on 5 second runs. I think I once said that it was nothing more than a powered test glide. If you do make one, make sure you use good spar material on the wing. All in all, a nice airplane that should do well in AMA with a good engine on the front.

Imagine a Maverick with squared stab. Then imagine it 27oz with a 15 at 440 sq”.

Dan, 27 ozs. for a 440 sq. in. plane sounds heavy even with a 15 on it!

Its FAI Gas. They are heavy.

And that is why a Zingo on 5 seconds in FAI trim is a powered test glide….
