The NFFS President's Message for December 1997

1. Results of the NFFS Elections

The NFFS Election ballots have been counted, and 357 NFFS
members voted. Our bylaws require that a minimum of 7% of
the USA members cast ballots for the
election to be valid. Our membership, as of August 29, 1997,
is 1829, so a valid number of ballots cast would equal 128.
Obviously, we exceeded this number by nearly 3 times.

The West Vice President balloting was:
Len Sherman 58
Hector Diez 41
Douglas Joyce Jr. 29
Robert Norton 16

Len Sherman was elected and will take office on January 1, 1998

The Northeast Vice President balloting was:
Hardy Brodersen 75
Phil Sullivan 37
Thomas Sanders 16

Hardy Brodersen was elected and will take office on January 1, 1998

The balloting for the bylaws change was as follows:
Bylaws change #1 - 501 (c) (3) designation
Yes 350
No 007

Bylaws change #2 - Increase terms of office to 4 years =
and establish a rotation of office.
Yes 347
No 010

Both items passed and will be incorporated in the revised =
NFFS Constitution
and bylaws. Copies of the bylaws may be obtained by s=
ending a large SASE with 55 cents to Bob Stalick,
5066 NW Picadilly Circle, Albany, OR 97321.

All ballots are being kept by William D. Shailor, whose law firm oversaw the
counting of the results. The ballots will be held until February 20, 1998 for
viewing. After February 20, they will be discarded.
Interested parties may contact Mr. Shailor at (248)539-2829.

2. 1998 F1D World Championships

The F1D W.C. will be held in the Romanian Salt Mines October 11 through 15.
Both the USA (AMA and NFFS) and the Romanians presented a last minute proposal
to rescue the W.C. for 1998. The Romanian proposal was accepted.
