THE NFFS PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: July & August 2004

I went to the U.S. Indoor Champs in Johnson City TN. It was good to see old friends like Jack McGillivary and Jim Lewis, and to form some new friendships.
NFFS has established an Indoor Advisory Committee to provide input from the indoor community, so the society can better support needs of indoor modelers. Its initial meeting was at USIC.
Along with future items, NFFS will be looking to the committee to . . . . . . provide input on selecting the free-flight representative to the NATS Planning Council. . . . recruit contest directors for future USICs. . . . encourage more indoor-related items in Digest. . . . develop National Cup events for indoor. Committee members are: Jim Buxton (chairman, Hilliard OH); Gary Baughman (Marietta GA); Larry Coslick (St. Louis MO); Tony Italiano (Greenfield WI); John Kagan (Strongville OH); Jim Lewis (Macon GA); Don Slusarczyk (Willoughby OH). I hope that all free-flight modelers (especially those who fly indoor) will support this committee and help provide useful input to NFFS. The committee and NFFS management are fully aware of the concerns about indoor RC. They will address these concerns in an orderly fashion long before the Nats planning meeting in October. My objective is to ensure that all facets of free flight work toward unity and a bigger voice for our overall activities.

Nats Banquet
Plan to attend the NFFS awards banquet on Wednesday night, Aug. 4. Highlights of the evening will be presentation of Distinguished Service Awards and induction of new members into the NFFS Hall of Fame. Join in recognizing these individuals'long support of free flight.

Swap Meet, Raffle
Support the new Nats swap meet on Tuesday evening, sponsored by Atlanta¹s TTOMA club. Also, send items for Thursday evening¹s Texas Timers/NFFS raffle and hotdog feed to J.P. Kish, 22 Pine St., Homosassa FL 34446-4654. If you want to bring items to the Nats, let J.P. know, and that will help with collecting them at Muncie.
Remember: If each of us signed up one new NFFS member, look what we could accomplish.
See you on the flight line!
