Motors and more motors
Regarding the rule change to allow F1B flyers to wind one motor before the flyoff starts.

I have no problem with this but in my opinion the rule needs extra clarification.

1, It says that we can wind ONE motor before the flyoff starts.

What if I do not ‘like’ this motor, can I discard it and wind another?

2, How long before can I wind  my extra motor, is the one that I wound ‘earlier’ included?   I have been winding them all day.

3, Who checks how many motors I have?

Sorry to be pedantic but during those frantic seven minutes a ‘hidden’ extra  wound motor could be very useful.

Of course I would not stoop to this sort of behavior but then again………….

Which one first ?

Hi Roger,
reading this new rule is interesting…

What if the flyer winds and breaks the motor? Is he then allowed to wind another ‘first motor” before the round? I can imagine it being interpreted differently by organisers in different jurisdictions.

Who’s Altimeter is that ?

Sheriff SCAT,

In practice, how will a jury confirm if an altimeter trace is from a particular competitor’s model ? The unscrupulous could easily swap an altimeter in order to help a fellow competitor gain an advantage and similarly a protest could nullify a legitimate altimeter flight.

Editor’s note : I think I have had enough of this Sheriffing stuff.
