Help wanted at the USA Team Selection event
From: Mike McKeever

I have accepted the job of recruiting timers for The United States Team Selection Contest to be held at Lost Hills from October 10 through October 14.  Normally entrants are required to time one of the days however due to the fact there are many more F1B (rubber) flyers than either F1A (glider) or F1C (power)  flyers, more timers are required during the F1B event.  There will also be additional timers required when F1C flyers time the F1A event on Thursday October 11th.  We will need approximately 14 timers for Thursday October 11th and approximately 10 timers for Saturday, October 13th.  Friday is covered as that is when F1B times for the Finals.

I would like to compile a list of available timers and assign them to various positions on the line for the F1A (Thursday) and F1B (Thursday and Saturday). Requirements are relatively basic; you should have the eye sight to time an airplane over four minutes and have binoculars.  Should you not have binoculars, arrangements can be made for you to borrow some.

Please contact me at either (916) 390-3212 or by E-mail at vamckeever@aol.com to volunteer.  This is a great way to see FAI free flight events; the equipment that is used and the strategies future World Championship Team Members use to make the team.  The World Champs will also be at the Lost Hills field at approximately the same time of year in 2019 and timers will be required at that event as well.  Thank you in advance for your help.
