Texas has hills too

From:Pete Reinhart

SEN 2900  Americas Cup comments:

1. Not to belabor an obvious dig at my home state, but Texas does have several excellent sites suitable for F1E participation.
The one that comes prominently to mind is the well known hang glider site 30-40 mile northwest of Austin.
It is essentially an isolated mound 3-400 feet high with road access to the top and to the landing fields below.
A low altitude flight in an appropriate type aircraft would find many more in the hill country and farther west.

2. May I mention also F1G as a non-controversial class with stable rules, satisfying performance, and a class that it is possible for the home-based gentleman craftsman to compete at the highest level?
I close with the oft quoted Bob Bullock saying, “God Bless Texas”
