F1Q Eurofly 2022 – Alpencup 2022

From: Urs Schaller
We have flown 2 World Cup competition for F1Q on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October in Switzerland near Bern at the traditional EUROFLY airfield of Mühlethurnen. Perfect weather with sunshine and winds in the 0-1m/sec range. I think the longest retrieval was no more than 300m  away. Very weak thermals as well as the almost absence of downdrafts. Only a bad start or a mechanical failure could make you do a below max. time. Andreas Lindner did some checking on the energy limiters during Friday afternoon and during the competition itself. Maybe he will report on the findings later. But it will help to generate an awareness of the problem among the F1Q flyers.

A perfect organisation with the help of the local Ice Hockey  Club helping out as timers and barmen’s for food and drink. A big “thank you” to all of them!

In each of the contest we had competitors from Holland, Germany, France, Italy, Hungary and Great Britain.

2022 Am Cup Report – Addition

Lord Wayawanda, Andrew Barron, hastened me to amend the Oct 2022 AmCup report. In fact, there are 4 remaining AmCup 2022 contests. I left out the Dave Lacey, Tom Kerr Memorial America’s Cup contest at Barron Field on November 5 and 6th.  Please post this correction so that the guano of a thousand bats do not find my model box.
