Arizona Champs in Eloy

On December 2 and 3 the Arizona Free Flight Championships will be held in Eloy, Arizona. This is the last America’s Cup and National Cup contest West of the Mississippi for the year 2018. There are FAI, AMA, NFFS and SAM events. On the desert flying field in Eloy it will be cool in the mornings but should warm up to about 70° during the day. The 2 fliers (FAI and AMA) can be requested from  brocksarizona at cox.net  and should also soon be posted on the NFFS Contest Calendar.

Please note that timers are not provided. It is the responsibility of the flyer to have a timer for all rounds and for the fly-off timer pool. F1C and F1P are combined for awards but will be reported separately for America’s Cup points. Motorcycle flapping or circling with a motorcycle under a model will not be tolerated. AMA membership is required.

Directions to field: from I-10 Exit 200 go South on Sunland Gin Rd.for 7.1 miles,
Webster West Field is on your left.
Accommodations: Camping on the field is possible

There will also be a full slate of AMA, Nostalgia, and SAM events flown at the ARIZONA FF CHAMPIONSHIPS (a National Cup Contest) Saturday and Sunday on the same field. See separate flier for events flown. The maximum entry fee to fly in both contests is $35.00.

1. Winch for FAI and or Oldtimer gliders.

With 100 m line, can be split. The line can be detached from winch with a
soft plastic ring handheld before start. The winch is then carried in your belt during
start.

After launch the line is attached to winch and rewound.

2. Mini bungee rubber launch device for smaller freeflight or RC gliders .

15 m rubber (4mm dia) and line 50m. Drum 14 cm dia. Piano wire earth anchor.
