Who?
All Science Olympiad teams are invited! We will send out a registration form closer to the date of the clinic, but we do NOT intend to charge a registration fee. Teams are welcome to participate even if they are not competing at one of the Solon events that weekend. We will be asking for at least one adult per school to provide supervision.
The clinic will be run by volunteers from the National Free Flight Society with extensive experience in model aeronautics. Several of these volunteers are involved in the Flight event at the national level.
What?
Students will have an opportunity to receive live feedback on trimming and flying their Flight planes in a gym space where they can actively practice and apply this feedback.
Where?
The main gym at Solon Middle School, 6835 SOM Center Road, Solon, OH 44139. The approximate dimensions of the space are 115′ by 100′ with a ceiling height of 24′ to the rafters, but with a curtain in the center at a height of 21′.
When?
5:30PM to 8:30PM on Friday, February 2, 2024 — the evening before our tournament.
Why?
This is a great opportunity for new and experienced students to receive expert advice on how to improve their Flight devices and competition skills. For Division B teams competing at the Solon Middle School event, this is a great opportunity to practice in the Flight event space before the competition on Saturday.
