I met David Anderson in the seventies when he was coming to the Pierre Trebod contest with Alan Edwards. He was flying A/2 gliders, and I remember that several times, I retreived his model which had been landed close to mine. He was a very special person. I am very sad to think he passed away. Life has not been so kind with him, but Free Flight gave him the opportunity to be strong and efficient against his problems.

F1B Models For Sale

I have five (5) Stefanchuk models for sale. These are in very good condition, and are ready to fly. These include three (3) 172’s and two (2) 155’s. All models have StS mechanical timers and StS fixed-pitch DPR front ends. Price = $600.00 each. Other items are for sale, and include six (6) StS half tubes, bobbins, & roller-hooks. I also have two (2) Romanchenko adjustable VP-DPR front ends, and various other items. E-Mail me and I will send you a complete list with details. 2014 King Orange FAI Free Flight Events Report

Entries in the FAI events were up a little this year with at least 1 entry in every event except F1P. Also the winds stayed as they were predicted and we didn’t have to move the flight line either day.

This year we have good weather for the 2 FAI days. It got a little windy and the direction was poor for the last 2 rounds on the day the 3 minute events were flown so the maxes were cut to 2 minutes for the 6th and 7th rounds. The direction of the wind on the 2nd FAI day was causing us to fly over 2 rows of pepper trees, really large bushes about 20 to 25 feet high, along some drainage ditches. The wind was also carrying models that got in big thermals about ¾ of a mile.
