Credits
USA Team Selection Committee for all the prepwork. In particular Charlie Jones, Blake Jensen and Bill Booth. Bill did the hard stuff – preparing contest materials from time cards, pole markers, table sheets and the now famous Bill Booth Bingo card that told both time keepers and contestants what pole they needed to be on for each and every round. AMA Competition Dept and FAI programs who backed them up.
The CD was Terry Kerger who ran the event, keeping everyone on track to produce a great team that will do the USA proud in Hungary. To run 6 contests with fly offs over 3 days in no mean feat and Terry did it well, on time with no major incidents. Terry had a team of helpers and apologies in advance for those who we may have over looked.
Processing Officer was Jack Emery; Score recorder and processing Lindy Murrell; Set up and timing Glen Schneider; set up and results collection Mike Richardson; Timing Bill Gannon, Dos Porter and Henry, Norm and Merry Smith, Bob Tymchek , Janna Van Nest, Dimity and Anton from Ukraine, all the participants with their partners and friends who did timing duty.
Mention must be made of Henning who came from Denmark to offer us his friendship and wisdom and pick up our trash, the latter a most needed service. Gabby’s Restaurant had their food truck on the field every contest day to supply lunch to all and introduce Henning to a Veggie quesadilla.
Head Jurist was Roger Morrell assisted by Bob Tymchek on all days and Brian Van Next, Ed Carroll and Alex Andriukov each on one day. Ed and Alex assisted in processing the winning models. Not their own!
Finally Mother Nature who gave us 3 great days of flying with increasingly warmer weather, decreasing to zero wind and very challenging thermals.
