Arizona F1E Champs on April 15, 2024 at Lost Hills

It had rained the Saturday and Sunday of the San Valeers Annual. On Monday (4/15) for the Arizona F1E Champs the main field entrance to the Lost Hills field was muddy and only the most Northern entrance was ok. Driving on the dirt roads was not possible, but driving the 2.5 miles from the field over the dried grass to Holloway Hill was the solution.
Because of the delayed arrival on the hill the first round started at 12 pm on the by then fairly dried-up hill top. The wind was at 5mph increasing to up to 12mph later in the day, coming from WNW and later NNE. Temperatures were 65°F to 78°F with clouds and sun.
1st.  Fred Terzian            422.91%
2nd. Peter Brocks             421.34%
3rd.  Geralyn Jones           359.20%
4th.  Mike Richardson         331.86%
5th.  Mike McKeever           292.54%

May 18-19 FF Meets, Lacey-Kerr Memorial and Hatcheck Challenge

From Andrew Barron
Dear Free Flight Friends,

Please find here attached the contest announcements (two pages) for the Dave Lacey, Tom Kerr Memorial Free Flight Meet May 18 and the Robert Hatschek International Challenge May 19.  With FAI, AMA, and concurrent FAC activity.

Hope to see many of you there.  I will be the CD for the FAI and AMA event flying. Email me in advance, especially if you do intend to come.

The meets are back-to-back for several reasons.  It is an inducement for competitors from across the country to come, especially if you are looking to get some diverse America’s Cup FAI activity.

For the less serious, it is a chance to choose which day you want to attend, knowing that your events will be available.

Thermals!
Andrew
