Roger,
My guess is that Chris Edge used AI in his SEN 3238 posting. (He dropped suggestion #4)
Best,
Aram 🙂

Good observation, unlike the FB, SEN’s posting are not validated by Meta’s thought police but postings from Chris to SEN no doubt follow a tortuous path to us from the other side of the Edge of Beyond crossing oceans and mountains to say nothing of Hadrian’s Wall so who know’s how it is scrutinized or enhanced. The tool we use for producing SEN , Mail Chimp does now offer an AI component to improve our publication but we have not used it. Maybe I should try it ? with the next item from EoB aka CHE aka Chris ? or with Aram’s? 🙂

From Magic Man
We got customer support question from a Q sportsman who was setting up a new airplane with a 3 servo Black Magic Q timer and new certified EL. This person had used a number of Magic Timers on his Q models and is very experienced Q guy. It turns out that he had made a minor error in setting up the timer that caused it not to function properly. What made it difficult for us to spot this was that the setting for the motor speed was significantly less than max speed and that looked strange to me, but then I’m nit a Q flyer. The flyer explained at with his set up he did not run the motor at top speed, he had figured out that the optimum altitude for the energy consumed was not to run the motor flat out. The EL he had been using up to this point came from a very reputable supplier, but when he switched to the certified EL, also from a reputable supplier and certified he found that he had to cut back the motor speed to meet the F1Q energy allocation requirement. This meant that the previous EL was being too generous in its energy allocation measurement. He was curious if we had heard of this from other sources. We had not. If I remove my Magic hat and replace it with my CD or Reporter hat I must admit that I had heard mutterings about certain Els being more generous than other and CD and or Event directors not wanting to check the energy allocation or being uncomfortable about some set ups. You will notice in this article I have been at some length not to identify either the sportsman or the ELs involved. Any input anonymous or not from the readership would be of interest. And no AI or even RealI will be applied. As a side point this does support the use of only certified flight recording devices in the measuring of flight times
